Nature Photography
The Morro Bay Region is a wonderful place for nature photography – with one caveat. With an abundance and diversity of natural landscapes, rocky and sandy coastlines, wildflowers, wildlife, and waterfront sunsets, there’s plenty for nature photographers to fucus their lenses on. The caveat is the marine overcast and haze that hugs the coastline in summer, typically from June through August but sometimes beginning in May or ending in September. It burns off most afternoons, and isn’t an issue a few miles inland. Winter, it turns out, offers the best atmospheric conditions for photography.
Because photography is such a personal creative endeavor, it seems pointless to try to narrate how and what to do here. Rather, we suggest you return to this website’s Home Page, and draw inspiration from pages we have provided on such topics as Natural Areas, Wildlife, Hiking, Botanizing, Cultural Events and Tours. Perhaps you can tell from the images used to build this website that your host Jim is a passionate nature photographer. He’ll be delighted to assist you with photography in any way he can.
